About Us

I launched my event décor business back in 2018, specializing in luxury backdrops and party props for Toronto-area planners and stylists. When COVID hit, everything came to a halt — events stopped, my clients pivoted, and my bookings vanished overnight.
But instead of giving up, I pivoted too. During lockdown, I began experimenting with faux florals to elevate my backdrops and market them directly to the public.
At the time, I knew very little about floral design — but I practiced relentlessly, learned through trial and error, and began sharing my work online.

How It
Started

What started as a creative experiment quickly became a business model that worked. In my first year, I made $12,000 renting faux florals. I reinvested, refined my marketing, and grew year over year — hitting $67,000 in floral rentals alone this year. But the real turning point came in 2023, when I got married in Banff, Canada. It was a breathtaking destination — but also incredibly expensive. I spent nearly $1,000 just on personal florals — one bouquet, three boutonnieres, and a corsage — and still couldn’t justify thecost of decorating my reception tables.Determined to stay on budget, I decided to DIY my own faux floral centerpieces, packed themcarefully in a suitcase with candles and holders, and sent them to Banff through a friend.Even after paying $150 in baggage fees, I still saved hundreds compared to fresh flowers — andmy florals looked perfect from ceremony to reception (and beyond). That experience reaffirmed what I already knew:Faux florals aren’t just affordable — they’re beautiful, versatile, and sustainable.Today, my collections travel to weddings, brand activations, and celebrations across Ontario —helping couples and planners achieve their Pinterest-worthy look without the waste, stress, orprice tag of real flowers.

Meet Jackie

Jackline Zakari, Founder

Hi, I’m Jackie Zakari — a self-taught floral designer, Certified Treasury Professional (CTP), and creative entrepreneur based in Milton, Ontario.
My CTP background gives me a deep understanding of the financial side of running a business — from managing cash flow and budgeting inventory to reinvesting profits strategically. I’ve learned firsthand that creative talent alone isn’t enough; understanding your numbers is what keeps your business alive and scalable.

That’s why my mentorship approach blends artistry with financial strategy — helping you build not just a beautiful brand, but a sustainable and profitable one.
Over the years, I’ve built multiple event-based brands and now mentor other floral entrepreneurs looking to start or grow their own faux floral rental businesses.
When I’m not designing or teaching, you’ll find me experimenting with new color palettes, filming behind-the-scenes tutorials for TikTok, or exploring local trails with my
husband Daniel and our dog, Riley.
